Imitation of one of the famous zodiac mohurs struck under Jahangir.
The dies do not match the few known surviving specimens, such as the one in the British Museum, and is thus likely to be a comtemporary or slightly later imitation in gold.
Obverse: Capricorn left
Reverse: Poetic couplet in Arabic script
Most of the original coins were melted by Jahangir's son Shah Jahan in the period 1628-1658. As Islam forbids the imagery of people or animals in this context, the coins were declared illegal.
